Making Room

I began working with CNN, a Time Warner company, last year creating a meditation program at their Atlanta headquarters.

The effort began to generate quite a bit of success, and after a number of months I was asked to consult on the development of a “Mindfulness Room”.

I am happy to say that today that room opened, and I couldn’t be happier. As a teacher, I understand how hard it is for a working woman or man to make the time in their busy lives to effectively implement a meditation practice.

Morning routines, commutes, etc.

To me, the most obvious solution is for organizations to create the space and allow the time for their employees to begin the day with some sort of contemplative practice.

It may seem contradictory that sitting and being quiet is productive, but that’s the secret to the whole thing, and everyone benefits.

In business, it’s a win-win.
