The Lunar New Year in China is called the largest annual human migration. Over three billion trips will be made by 1.4 billion Chinese travelers over a fifteen-day period in February. The China Railway Service estimates that 300 million people will travel by train during that period. That’s more than the population of the United States.

Witnessing this was extraordinary.

In Shanghai, I watched as the population swelled with visitors, both local and international. After living around the world in less congested cultures, it is humbling enough to live in one of the largest cities in China.

Experiencing the Chinese New Year first hand takes humble to a whole different level.
